9 Years of Jailyn

We are big birthday people. Like, EPIC big. We don't skimp and do what we can to make sure that it isn't like any other day - esp during the holiday season.

I've had the fortune of giving birth to a fellow Sagittarian exactly 7 days before my own bday. From the moment she was born, this kid was meant to steal my thunder.

And though much of this blog has already documented her interesting life, something tells me that if the last 9 years is indicative of what's up ahead.. *gulp*

So first things first: The PRE-bday party. This year, Jailyn asked for a more intimate get-together instead of the usual soiree we do for her entire class. The theme? Power Puff Girls. The location: Farrells Ice Cream Parlor and Build-a-Bear. (read: daddy needs to pawn his golf clubs to pay for the aforementioned "intimate get-together.)

Here's a quick collage of the day's events:

So we partied. We heartied. And now she's nine. And as if the life of a nine year-old hasn't been celebrated enough, she's managed to trickle bday celebrations for her during MY bday weekend. How's that for further thunder stealing?

I read about someone arguing that doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result is NOT the definition of insanity, but happens to be the true definition of hope. And if Jailyn does anything for me, she definitely gives me hope. Lots of it.
